Entrepreneurship is my passion. I decided to become an accountant to find out what made businesses successful so choosing to become an accountant was the proper and logical choice. I continue to teach new and developing entrepreneurs how to successfully manage and operate their businesses. This engagement with new business owners stokes my entrepreneurial fire and allows me to remain focused, current, and caring in my profession.

I have been in the accounting field for more than 20 years, and there is nothing that brings me and my team more joy than the successes of our clients- their victories become our victories.

I love my field, I enjoy what I do, and I strive to be the best that I can. Creating efficiencies within business is my strongest attribute; streamlining processes and making the lives of my clients and myself better is extremely important to me. The system we have created makes life easier for all of our clients. It is the very same system that I use for my own business, which allows me to enjoy more of my life with family and friends.

Why did I become a bookkeeper?

Bookkeeping gives me the opportunity to improve people's lives by giving them the peace of mind to know that their books are in order.  I can ensure that all clients' bookkeeping needs are being taken care of efficiently and accurately.  I am confident that clients can rely on me and in the service that I provide. In turn, I strive to ensure that they are confident in my ability to respond to any issue or situation with a positive and reassuring result.  I take pride in exceeding client expectations through my expertise and dedication.

“Peace of Mind” is a good feeling for everyone involved and I am happy to help people by making their lives simpler.  Clients have an expectation for results and, with me, they know they have somebody advocating for them and helping them to achieve their business goals.

My background includes 20 years’ experience with bookkeeping, payroll, customer service, human resources and technology. No problem is unsolvable; anticipating problems and providing solutions that can avoid costly mistakes is where we shine.

With over 20 years of experience in the bookkeeping industry I have found that working with clients from a wide spectrum of industries has allowed me to develop valuable skills and experience.  This is a profession that I have always enjoyed working in and I bring a passion for this work every day to the office.  I am dedicated to helping clients achieve business success by helping them establish a practical and sound tax and financial process.

When I am not crunching numbers, you will find me tackling a home improvement project, reading a great book or enjoying the company of my husband, 3 children and 2 fur-babies.

As the Operations Manager for AWVA, it’s my job to ensure client and employee success, both together and individually.  At our firm, we are there to support, educate, and encourage our clients, because when they succeed, we succeed.  It is truly a pleasure to be part of such an amazing team who all have the same drive, passion and desire to build a strong community.

Having been born and raised in Medicine Hat and area, my husband and I have the privilege of raising our family here.  From owning and operating a successful Bridal Shop, to coaching all levels of kids' sports and being involved in many community driven groups and events, Medicine Hat will always be the place I am proud to call home.

I am excited to be starting a new adventure here at AWVA. My prior experience was at an automotive dealership where I learned many aspects of business and worked my way up from Receptionist to Office Manager.   In all, I have over a decade of experience in customer service, accounting, payroll, and human resources.   Therefore, I bring extensive knowledge of accounting with me, which will transfer directly to this new opportunity as a bookkeeper with AWVA. I am excited to bring these skills into a new industry and challenge myself to learn even more about the accounting and business world.
